![]() However, my pain was negligible post-surgery and the feeling of tightness had also gone. The time at the hospital was really bad, I was in there for 12-14 days and it wasn’t a smooth ride. Post-surgery I was put on a 5-day course of antibiotics through IV. The surgery went well, they drained out the fluid, sent it for testing, took samples from my uterus for tests too, did not find anything else during the surgery. They also suspected tuberculosis or endometriosis, so eventually after one week at the hospital already they decided to go ahead with a laparoscopic surgery in a hope to find some answers. One of the tests showed free fluid in my pelvis area, the doctors suspected that it could be infectious and causing the discomfort. I was in too much pain, couldn’t even get myself to stand up straight because of the pain. ![]() We consulted my aunt again and after checkup she advised for me to be hospitalized again, this was in late March’18ĭuring this time, lot of other tests were done at the hospital to find out what’s wrong and nothing really showed up. After about 10 days my pain started to increase, and the feeling of tightness and congestion started to get worse. I continued to have a dull pain along with slight tightness in my lower abdomen for the next few days. My pain and the feeling of tightness was much less and I was finally able to go to the washroom without any pain. I felt better, not completely fine though. On the other side, my test reports came out be all fine, except for in just one test it showed ‘bacterial vaginosis’.Īfter the course of medication got over, I was sent home expecting that whatever infection I had caught should be completely fine after all the medicines given to me. ![]() The first 24 hours were horrible, though with painkillers my pain had subsided but the feeling of tightness and pressure of my organs pushing downwards was still there. After the admissions formality, several test samples were taken, and I was put on IV antibiotics course for 72 hours along with pain killers for immediate relief. I was taken to the hospital the same night it was past midnight already. We called up my aunt and she advised for me to be hospitalised immediately. Once we got back home, I felt only worse because going to the washroom was a nightmare, I felt so swollen and full inside that couldn’t seem to pass stool and oh my god! It was so painful. After a thorough check up, she told me that I was suffering from pelvic inflammatory disease, I was prescribed some medicines and asked to take complete rest. Luckily one of my aunt’s is a gynaecologist and we decided to visit her. The visit to doctor who had been treating me till now did not help as she had no clue as to what was wrong with me. The pain was so acute that it felt as if something sharp is cutting through my lower abdomen, also, by this time I was having difficulty in passing stool. I would usually end up throwing up after eating and would constantly feel exhausted.Īfter finishing up my course of medicine prescribed by one the leading gynaecologist in my area, and no relief but feeling that my condition had only worsened as the feeling of fulness in my lower abdomen was at its prime along with the pain and it felt like all my organs were tightly twisted with each other and pushing downwards. Heavy medication and all the pain made my body extremely restless and sensitive. Multiple to visits to various gynaecologists and long antibiotic courses didn’t seem to help at all and we were all clueless as to what was going on with me. However, even after taking the medication my condition only worsened over the days and the pain became unbearable along with the feeling of tightness getting too much to handle. I visited a gynaecologist I was put on antibiotics by the suggesting that it’s a common vaginal infection. It all started with a mild pelvic pain and feeling of pressure and tightness in my lower abdomen in February’18. It was a long journey I have tried my best to mention all the details in here so it’s going to be a long read. Continuing with my journey with IC, in this part I would like to talk about how it all began and the journey to my diagnosis.
